The Krein Knives TGS 2012 is a special collaboration betweenTriple Aught Design and Tom Krein that dates back many years. Its been two years since the last TGS and in this iteration Tom really focused on refining the usability of this field knife. Tom is best known for his simple, straightforward style, incredible grinds and unbelievably sharp blades. An incredibly sharp D2 steel blade with drop point and swedge offers great edge retention and weather resistance. The blade has been deep acid washed with a tumbled finish.

Built to do extensive work in the field, the 0.7 wide handle is more than up to the challenge. The Micarta handle has just the right amount of swell to work without discomfort.

The guard is just pronounced enough to protect your hands without getting cumbersome. As an extra detail, Tom applied jimping on the spine of the thumb ramp. The custom Kydex sheath has excellent retention and includes a large Tek-Lok for multiple carry options.

Due to the nature of custom knives, slight variations may occur. Blade: D2 with Acid Wash Tumbled Finish. Sheath: Kydex with Large Tek-Lok. Blade Length: 4.1 (10.41 cm).

Cutting Edge Length: 3.82 (9.70 cm). Blade Thickness: 0.19 (0.48 cm). Handle / Scale Length: 4.18 (10.62 cm). Handle Thickness: 0.70 (1.78 cm). Overall Length: 8.26 (17.07 cm). With Sheath: 9.6 oz.
