Microtech Marfione Custom Knife Anax TAD Gear Folder Bronze Body DLC Blade

This is an extremely rare Microtech/Marfione Custom Knives for TADgear Anax folder. What makes this knife so rare is that it features a Bronze body and black Stonewash DLC coated Elmax blade. It is estimated that less than 10 pieces of this TADgear Anax were produced in this variation. The more common variation features a silver/grey titanium handle and a high polish drop blade. This custom TADgear Marfione Custom Knife is in'secondtime-new' condition meaning owned by a collector,'safe-queen' rarely if ever used, never carried and no visible signs of wear. Anax is the ancient Greek word for military leader or king, and it is also the genus of Emperor Dragonfly. Both nomenclatures chosen to represent the Marfione Custom Knives Anax TAD Edition aptly relate to its design. The former speaks to Tony Marfiones prestigious reputation and ability to craft exquisite knives, while the latter is visually represented through the machined dots on the back of the handle.

The Anax folder was originally created as a midtech for Microtech Knives, surfacing as one of the standout knives from the BLADE Show. Featuring an internal frame lock machined from a solid billet of 6AL4-V titanium and skillfully hand ground by Tony, the Marfione Anax Bronzed TAD Edition only enhances the already superb blade. The Anax features an integral frame, meaning that the frame of the knife is machined from one solid chunk of titanium rather than having a separate backspace or individual stand offs. In essence, the fewer parts equates to greater reliability.

Besides the difficulty involved in the engineering, the result is a very dependable folder. In that same vein, the lock bar is serviceable and has a hardened 17-4 steel tip. The pocket clip is also machined titanium with a silicon nitride bearing insert to make it easy to slip over the ridge in your pocket. The Elmax stainless steel blade has a full length fuller groove to make the Anax easy to open regardless of grip and rides on a ceramic bearing system that is supplemented with an added plate for super-smooth action that won't fade over time.

The TAD Edition features a Triple Aught Design logo on the blade and three fullers on the handle. This Marfione Custom Knives folder comes in an MCK deluxe oversized Marfione Custom Knives box that includes a zippered pouch along with a smaller removalbe carry pouch and a massive metal Birthday Card/COA that is nearly as big as the knife when open.
