Large Vintage RALPH BONE Lock-Back Folding Knife, White Bone Handle, Belt Sheath
This is a large, rare, early, Ralph Bone lock-back slip joint folder with a clip point blade. It comes from a life-long collection of knives that were well-taken care of, and properly stored. The blade steel is unknown. The blade is marked "135" on one side of the tang, and on the other is Ralph Bone's signature "dog bone" maker's mark with a faint "BONE LUBBOCK, TEX" stamped inside. The front and rear bolsters appear to be brass, as do the liners. The bolsters have a patina from age, and could use some clean-up. There is a small nick in the rear bolster on the "bone" side. The handle material is white bone - I suspect bovine bone. There are 4 hairlines on the "bone" side, and one on the spine, presumably from age and drying. The scales are tight and stable. This is a solid knife. The blade opens with a large, deep nail nick, could use some lube, and has the slightest bit of up-and-down movement. The blade closes by depressing the rear lock, and sits a tad off center in the liners. It has never been used, carried or sharpened. The blade shows no visible signs of use or sharpening. A great example of one of Ralph's folders. You are always welcome to contact me for additional pictures.

It comes with a leather belt sheath with snap closure. The sheath is unmarked, but fits the knife perfectly. There is green patina on the brass snap, and some inside the sheath flap from where the edge of the bolster rested. The green on the bolster easily rubbed off with my finger - there wasn't much. We will consider, and respond to all reasonable Best Offers on any knife.

Never used, carried or sharpened. Windy City Knives is a dealer of custom, handmade and collectable knives.
