This is a brand new full custom from Kurt Merriken. It is his first Hamon style blade similar to the way katanas are forged. So you get a crisp line in-between the hardened and unhardened steel.
The blade snaps open from a strong detent riding smoothly on ball bearings to a crisp audible lockup. All of the hardware is polished and anodized to a burnt orange, accenting the media blasted titanium handle scales finished in an olive drab anodization. To top it all off, this knife features two accenting chunks of zirconium for the pocket clip as well as the floating backspacer. While I absolutely love this knife, I'm having a hard time justifying keeping it around especially since I don't use it and never plan on using it. The action is super smooth running on ball bearings.
Being the first owner I can tell within time and enough break in it will become even smoother. It's already close to fall shut, a few small wiggles gets it to close. There's zero lock stick, no blade play, and the blade centering is perfect. The detent is similar to that of a Shirogorov: you'd need to try in order to missopen the knife. Lockup is also very solid with no lockbar creep.I hate to sell this, but as I wrote above I can't justify keeping it around. NOW OPEN TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS.
