Buck 110 with Tree Agate scales and green liners. The knife has a date stamp from 2023 but I completed the custom lapidary work on February 9, 2024 (number CH 24-04). Tree Agate is a chalcedony with dendrite inclusions of moss-colored green minerals.
This material has a little texture on the back side where a pocket of crystals was hiding. Tree Agate is an unusual agate as it is opaque white and doesn't have the banding common in chalcedonies that are also named "agate". Dendritic inclusions are usually fern, tree or branch like. It is named dendritic or dendrites from dendron, which means "branch-like" in Greek. Dendrite inclusions are formed due to the presence of manganese and iron oxides. The knife comes with the factory leather sheath, a soft case, and a certificate describing the knife. I take a lot of pride in the fit and finish of my knives to ensure they meet my standards. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
